This document serves as a quick reference sheet in answer to some of the general questions regarding the PTO. Please refer to the By-Laws for further details.
Question : What is the function of the PTO?
Answer : PTO represents the interests and concerns of the parents and teachers to serve the needs of our children. It serves as a bridge for the parents to the school administration/board. PTO doesn’t run the school nor is it related to the school administration or school board in any way.
Question : What is the term of the current PTO?
Answer : One Year.
Question : How do I join the PTO?
Answer : You just need to Sign Up!!
Question : How do I become an office-bearer of the PTO?
Answer : Be a voting member, come to the elections and get elected.
Question : When is the next election for the PTO board?
Answer : September 2005.
Question : How do I get active with the PTO?
Answer : Join the PTO and volunteer.
Question : How can I help the school?
Answer :There are many ways in which you can help. You can get assigned to the Volunteer List maintained by the Volunteer Coordinators. When events or activities that need volunteers come up, the Volunteer Coordinators from the PTO will contact you. You can also contact the Principal or your child’s teachers to see how you can be of assistance to the school.
