About Islamic School of Irving

Alhamdulillah, The Islamic School of Irving (ISI) was officially opened on October 21st, 1996 with the Kindergarten Program. Alhamdulillah, 6 children successfully graduated in July 1997. During the 1997-1998 school year two additional grades (1st and 2nd) were added. During the 1997-1998 school year, ISI graduated 19 students from the different elementary classes. During the 1998-1999 school year, ISI added 3rd grade and school enrollment reached 38. Presently, the enrollment of the school increased to more than 300 students up to the high school. This accomplishment followed years of investigation and planning by the Islamic Center Of Irving and Islamic School Of Irving who sought to establish a high quality of education for Muslim children from Irving and surrounding cities of DFW.

The school has moved quickly to establish a strong academic program where children are challenged to learn and excel academically. In addition to these core subjects, the school offers various extra-curricular activities such as after school reading program, science projects, and sports programs. The school also conducts a field trip program that takes students to many places of educational interest and values. Islamic School Of Irving is approved by the Texas Department of Protective And Regulatory Services and Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The school administers the national standardized test and TAKS (Texas Assessment Knowledge Skills) test each year to ensure that its students are making satisfactory progress and performing at or above the required grade level. We also provides High School dual credit program with Northlake Community College, Advance placement (AP), Pre-AP, Gifted & Talented (GT) and English as Second Language (ESL) programs.

Admissions

Islamic School Of Irving welcomes students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, believing that such diversity serves to strengthen and enrich the school community. The school seeks students who are academically motivated and well disciplined. Parents seeking admission of their children to the school should be genuinely interested in securing a quality academic and Islamic education for their children. Candidates for admission to the school are selected on the basis of the following factors: previous academic performance and school conduct, minimum age requirement (for Kindergarten), testing, a personal interview, as well as a family’s commitment to educational excellence and to meeting its financial obligations to the school. Please see enrollment packet for detail admissions policy.

Faculty

Islamic School Of Irving has a highly trained and dedicated faculty including State certified teachers. Our teachers have received advance academic training, as well as various years of experience and a high degree of commitment to the ideals and objectives of Islamic education. Presently, ISI has more than thirty-five highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, including a school principal, Assistant Principal and Administration staff. The enthusiastic commitment our teachers show for young people engenders a spirit of cooperation and a love for learning that accounts for the school’s true quality and success.

Finances

Quality education costs money. The State of Texas spends over $9500 per student on education while U.S. Average Expenditure Per student is more than $10,000. Tuition at ISI is less than half the State average and less than most other Islamic school its size. Every effort is made to keep down the cost of tuition so that the school is affordable to as many families as possible. Please contact the school office for its current tuition rates.

ISI Advantage?

ISI provides Muslim children with the following advantages and benefits: strong Islamic values, small classes, high academic standards, a comprehensive curriculum, committed and Certified teachers, and most important an Islamic environment where they can learn and grow as Muslims. In this way, Insha-Allah, we will produce young men and women who are well–tooted Islamically, well-trained morally, and well-prepared academically. The school invites you to become part of one of the largest and fastest growing Islamic schools in DFW-Metroplex. If you are looking for a quality and affordable education that centered on high academic and Islamic standards, then ISI should be a part of your child’s future. No greater gift can be given to a Muslim child than the gift of an Islamic education.
