Admission Policy
Admission to ISI is open to all students in the early childhood program. The
school does not discriminate in enrollment on the basis of race, age, sex, or
national origin. ISI reserves the right to decline admission to students for
the following reasons, which are not considered inclusive of all reasons
justifying denial of admission: if a student requires special education
instruction beyond of the School’s capability or capacity; and students who
require English as a Second Language beyond the preview of the school’s
capability or capacity.
Enrollment opens during the month of April and continues until all available
spots are filled in a given grade. Priority in enrollment is as follows:
1. Students already enrolled at ISI
2. Staff children
3. Siblings of students already enrolled at ISI
4. All others
In order for a new student to be considered for admission to ISI the following
must be on file at the school:
1. Completed and signed application form.
2. Fill out and sign all the required registration forms. This includes an
acknowledgement that the parents have read and will abide by the policies
included in the school handbook and a Parent’s Guide to Day Care has been
provided and discussed.
3. Copies of student’s academic record, (if child attended other daycare or
school.)
4. Payment of non-refundable registration fee.
5. Payment of material fee.
6. Payment of the first tuition installment.
7. Interview with the parent
8. Original birth certificate (copied and initialed by registrar).
9. Health requirement – immunization and physical examination.
10. Sign all promissory forms for tuition.
The school will not start reviewing a file until all of the above items are
completed. All admission decisions are communicated in writing. A student will
be allowed to attend classes only after they are fully registered in the
school. The school reserves the right to deny or revoke admission to students
if records show that false or misleading information has been provided on the
application forms. Students who withdraw after school begins will lose
registration fees, material fees, and will also be responsible for tuition
until the end of the month in which the withdrawal occurred.
PROOF OF BIRTHDAY
In order to enroll in early childhood program, students must be three or four
years old age by October 31st of the current academic year. All children must
be toilet trained before gaining admissions to ISI. Likewise, no child should
be admitted to a Kindergarten or First grade unless the child is Five or Six
years of age, respectively, by the 31st of October the year of admittance.
RE-ENROLLMENT
Due to the limited number of seats available and the desire of many families to
join ISI, parents of returning students must fill out and sign intent of
enrollment form before May 15th. The signing of the intent of enrollment does
not constitute full registration. Parents must fully register a returning
student by the deadline set by the school. In order for a returning student to
be fully registered, the following must be completed:
1. Complete, sign and return the Re-enrollment registration form.
2. Payment of Non-refundable registration fee.
3. Payment of material fee.
4. Update health record.
5. Sign all promissory forms for tuition and assessment.
Students who withdraw prior to the beginning of the school year after being
fully registered will lose their registration fees. Students who withdraw after
school begins will lose registration fees, material fees, and will also be
responsible for tuition until the end of the month in which the withdrawal
occurred. Tuition, registration, and material fee will not be refunded if a
child has attended any portion of the month.
CONDITIONAL EARLY ENTRANCE
This conditional entrance is only for children who desire Kindergarten
enrollment but will be five years of age between October 31st and December 31st
of the current academic year. The school will decide on granting or denying the
admission of each child individually based on the following criteria: 1. Space
availability. 2. Professional recommendation from academic institution or
professional psychologist. The examiner will observe the child’s skills:
cognitive, social, emotional, and motor. Also, parents may submit the result
from the public school that the child has been accepted in a kindergarten
program. 3. All students who are admitted conditionally are on probation for
the first two six weeks. Based on the teachers’ recommendation, the school
reserves the right to allow the student to remain in Kindergarten or to return
the child to the pre-K program. 4. The parents are primarily responsible to
provide additional assistance (tutor or special program) to overcome any
deficiency the child may have during the trial period. 5. It is the
responsibility of the parents to initiate the process of application for
students who fall in this category.
